Mining Ores and Flowers
On your adventures in the Almighty Land and Kartehena Viceroyalty you will come across different types of Ores and Flowers. If you learn the Miner or Herb Collector ability you can use your Mining or Gathering skill together with a 'Pickaxe' or 'Sickle' to mine the ore or harvest the flowers. Some ores and flowers requires a higher ability to mine or harvest. To mine a rock or harvest a flower you have to equip the proper tool and then "attack" the rock of flower.

You can buy a Mining Tool (pickaxe) or a Gathering Tool (sickle) from NPCs in Pirate Town. For the Gathering Tool, go near the human trainers and look for Aeris <Flower Girl>, For the Mining Tool, go near the akkan trainers and look for Barret <Master Miner>
